We are currently in the middle of the hottest time of the year and a great way to cool off is to go swimming! Go head out to a community pool, yours or your friends pool, or a clean lake. While the relief of the water feels great, it can get a little boring with nothing in particular to do. Get out your swimming skills and dive right in!
Marco Polo
Players Needed: 3+
How To Play: One player (the "it") shuts their eyes while other players swim around them. The "it" player must ttys to tag someone, with their eyes still closed, so the "it" person yells "Marco!" In return, the other players yell "Polo" until the "it" person tags someone. No opening your eyes, "it person!" It's in my opinion, a very fun game. However, if you're playing at a public pool, try not to play on a crowded day, because it is very embarrassing to accidentally run into strangers.

Wall Run
Players Needed: 4+ (even teams needed)
How to Play: Wall Run is very similar to Capture the Flag, but it is played in water. One team takes one side of the pool, the other team takes the other. This pool should probably be pretty big, and should resemble a rectangle. A boundary should be set up somewhere in the middle of the pool, distinguishing one teams land from another. Team members try to get to the other teams side and have all team members of one team touch the back wall of the other team. Players can tag one another if they are on different teams, but the player on the enemy's land who was tagged just goes back to their own side. It's a bit like football, but the tactics and strategy in this game are fun.

Americas Best Swimmer
Players Needed: 3+
How to Play: Pick a judge, and have the judge choose a category on how the other players should dive in. Some possible categories are: Klutzy, funny, animal, cartoon character, etc. The players jumping in do their best jump according to the category. For example, if the card is "animal," you could jump in like a cat. The judge then picks the best one, and the winner judges the next round, and so on.
Stay cool this summer!
