Being part of those smarty pants who discovered the skill a while back (Fortunally, it didn't took the proportions of the not yet released Minecraft Skill! Remember? Tons and tons of makers posting Minecraft projects thinking that the skills was released!), I couldn't agree more with Saxon who says that Graphic Designer is one of the most important skills!
In fact, graphic designing is in every aspect of our life, just right now, you're reading this article but do you realize that there's a lot of graphic designing behind this very simple piece of text? Graphic designing isn't simply aout designing logos or companies, it includes a lot of stuff!

Graphic Designers communicate ideas with text and images. We design icons, layout pages, and dial in typography – all with the utmost finesse and precision.
And because of this wild diversity of things that are included in graphic designing, DIY created 12 different challenges from Make a Logo to Screen Print a Design! But remember, some times one simple thing can in fact, be very long and complicated to design! ;)
Create a Business Card: Design your own custom business card that communicates what it is you do. Don't use your real information (name, address, etc).

Make a Logo: Create your own logo or redesign your favorite logo so it's fresh and awesome. If redesigning, show the original alongside your remake.

Design a Package: Design your own packaging or find a product you love to use and redesign its packaging. If redesigning, show the original along with the new design.
Design a Pictogram: Create a picotgram that conveys an action, place, thing or idea.
Make a T-Shirt Design: Use a computer program or hand draw a t-shirt design. Use the blank t-shirt as your canvas.
Design a Cover: Pick a book, CD or DVD you like and design a cover for it. It should make people want to read, listen or watch it.
Design an Infographic: Hand draw or use a program to create an info graphic.

Design for Print: When printing professionally, you'll need to follow certain guidelines. Share two ways in which you've designed something for print.
Screen Print a Design: Screen print a design onto a t-shirt, poster, postcard, or anything else that's flat. Show the process with pictures of video.

Make a Relief Print: Think of something awesome to print, then carve out a block of wood or linoleum and print it.
