Well what if it was closer than we thought? What if it now took the shape of an animated series that would be featured on DIY TV?
As I said in the previous paragraph, for long-time DIYers, an animated movie is nothing new and has been planed ever since the beginning. As an example, in one of the very first interview of the co-founders (Zach Klein, Isaiah Saxon, Andrew Sliwinski and Daren Rabinovitch) back in May 2012, they were already talking about this!
"The movie is about the characters from DIY, which will be a group of kids who save their small Rust Belt town through hacking, making and building" -Zach Klein

The staffs also gave the link to the story board to help you with the "Make a Storyboard" challenge under the Animator skill!
Both of them seems to have different tasks on this animation, from what we know so far, Rabinovitch have been working on storyboarding the series:
"Eli is overly optimistic, obsessed with skills and preparedness, and he’s in complete denial of the facts of reality." -Isaiah Saxon
