Do you ever feel like the day will never end? Even in all the summer rush there are those days when it seems like there is nothing to do. Here are some great ideas to conquer your summer boredom.
Make a movie. Any kind of movie works. Try reenacting one of your favorite movie scenes, do a music video, stop-motion, comedy, short skit, or explore new camera techniques. If you don't have a video camera, just act out a scene from your favorite movie with your friends. You could even put on a play!
Create your own restaurant. Give your parents a break and cook dinner. Give your "restaurant" a theme. Don't forget to create your menu and restaurant name. What will it be tonight, Mexican? Hawaiian? Vegetarian? You pick. Bon appetit!
Start a book club. Are you a book worm? Are you looking for someone to discuss the latest book you just read? Meet up with your friends and start a book club. Agree on a book to read, time & place, and then discuss the book and hang out. It's a great way to meet new people and have fun!
Have a family game night. Blow off the dust from your classic board game and have a daring game of Clue, Uno, Sorry, Life, or Scrabble. If you're looking for something less intense, try a couple battle rounds of chess or checkers. For the big showdown play a marathon game of Monopoly. To make sure everybody stays engaged, put all phones on airplane mode.
Host a summer talent show. Find out your neighbor's hidden talents at a neighborhood talent show. Invite friends and neighbors. Who knows, maybe that accountant next door has a mad skill for puppets or the retired school teacher can break dance or rap?!
Create your own outdoor water park. Turn your backyard into Water Country! Pull out the slip 'n slide, inflatable pool, and volleyball net. Give it a name like "Aqua Kingdom!" Don't forget to have a game corner with hose limbo, splash tag, and trash bag piñata. For the grand finale, have an epic water balloon battle!
The perfect boredom buster cure is, of course, go to DIY.org! I hope these ideas help you conquer your summer boredom. Now, get out there and go have fun!
